Chateau Hostačov (pronounced “Hawstachov” to an english speaker) is a family owned and operated heritage listed renaissance chateau built on the foundations of an early medieval fortress.
Recently ressurected as a bed and breakfast guesthouse and small group conference centre we welcome guests to life in an authentic country manor house. Our well travelled Czech/Australian/South African team will make you feel at home, wherever you come from.
The chateau lies in its own forest park in the Czech highlands region, our lands bordering the central Bohemian and Pardubice regions, meaning our guests are perfeclty positioned to explore the attractions in all three provinces. The UNESCO heritage listed historic town centre of Kutna Hora is only 20 minutes away, whilst the fairytale castle at Žleby is 4km downstream.
We are on an ongoing quest to bring the chateau and park into all its former glory and more. During this process we invite you into our finest ensuite rooms to experience the wide open interiors and idyllic old forests of a country manor house. Guests are encouraged to take a free guided tour of the chateau, and then to stroll through our 12 hectares of park and grounds which encompass old growth forests, a small lake, meadows and bubbling streams. We will also be more than happy to divulge our knowlegde of the attractions to be found in the local vicinity and advise on trips to the surrounding countryside and its historic and natural monuments. We are sure you will love the serenity and slow pace of a bygone age so much that you will want to return again and again to watch our restoration work continue.
